Returns & Refunds Policy

Overview
At Mata Masala, we want you to enjoy every product you purchase. As our products are spices, a perishable item, this policy explains your rights under UK consumer law and how we handle returns, refunds, and faulty goods.

1. Returns

Due to the perishable nature of spices, we cannot accept returns for any opened or used products. This ensures the safety and quality of our products for all customers.

If you receive an unopened product that is damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of receipt at matamasalaltd@gmail.com, and we will advise you on the next steps.

2. Damages and Issues

Please inspect your order upon delivery. Contact us immediately if:

  • The item is defective or damaged

  • You received the wrong product

We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, provide a replacement or refund at no extra cost.

3. Non-Returnable Items

All spices are perishable goods and cannot be returned once opened. Other exceptions do not apply as all our products are spices.

4. Refunds

If a return is approved for a damaged, faulty, or incorrect product:

  • Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

  • Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card provider to post the refund.

  • If more than 15 business days have passed after approval, contact us at matamasalaltd@gmail.com.

5. European Union Customers

For EU orders, the 14-day cooling-off period under the EU Consumer Rights Directive does not apply to perishable goods, such as spices, once they are opened. Faulty or damaged goods are still eligible for a refund.
